Mobile phones which used to be big became smaller and it has now evolved into something called the "smartphone". Smartphones varies in sizes but the latest Samsung Note 2 has a 5.5" size screen. Is it a phone or a tablet? The answer is up to ones individual perception.

What else is new .......

Is notebook computers becoming a thing in the past with the upcoming market of Tablet computers? Has been hearing so much about iOS and Android bickering and trying their best to upstage one another. Quietly, Microsoft (or maybe not so quietly) released its newest OS - Windows 8. With W8, M tries to enter the tablet market and maybe out do the previous two.

Anyone out there tried W8 yet? I recently purchased a 11.1" notebook which runs on W8. Liked it so far. Apart from its new UI, it is basically like any other Windows OS. Understand that it is based on W7 which is by far the most stable Microsoft OS to date? Is it true?

But whatever it is in the tech world out there, I believe it would benefit all of us consumers out there.

One day would come when "beam me up Scotty" is no longer from a movie but a reality. Scary but kind of looking forward to it.Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-68218129730398861922012-04-24T19:26:00.001-07:002012-04-25T18:48:11.288-07:00.... moving on....Haven't posted anything for a long time. Don't like posting up stuff without pictures as "they" said, "Pictures paints a thousand words." Let's move on.

My iPhone plan with DiGi ended on 2nd April 2012 after 2 long years. With that I took opportunity to jump into another plan with a spanking new phone - HTC One X. Thus I bid adieu to the good old iOS and welcomes the Android. No, I have put it wrongly. Android is not new to me as I already own a Android Tablet (see previous post). So, far I'm loving the new phone but too lazy to post up any photos of it. Please google it if you need to know what it looks like.

Another preoccupation - my new healthy hobby. Actually haven't started yet. Just got myself a folding bike. Pricey but nothing like my gadgets. makes me poorer by RM740/-. Not a big bike but just a humble 20" bike for leisure cycling around my taman. Since it is foldable, can also bring it along to other tamans to cycle. Looking forward for my daughter to grow bigger so can cycle together. The bike I got is the Raleigh Ugo. There's a story behind this - earlier I bought a similar one (as in type and NOT brand/quality) from Giant Hypermarket. Cost RM249 but the quality is very poor. A lot of things is below par. Back tyre went flat on the second day so I decided to returned it and be refunded. For replacement, that's how I got the Ugo. Being wiser, I got the Ugo from a bicycle retail shop in USJ.

Let's get fit!!!!!Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-63064158360160760512011-12-20T07:12:00.000-08:002011-12-23T19:08:38.180-08:00Go green.
My buying habit is at it again! This time, BIG time!!!

I recently sold of both my cars (Perodua Kelisa 2002 and Honda City 2007) to buy the Toyota Prius. Loving the car as each day goes by. Initially I find the shape a little "off" but one tends to grow to like it.

Driving style seems to have changed too. I am now becoming less aggressive with the fuel consumption as the main concern (unless I'm late for an appointment of course). My average fuel consumption I am getting is about 5 litres/100km. Technically it should be about 3.8 litres/100km.

Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-51176556261610344532011-09-16T18:39:00.000-07:002011-09-16T19:06:22.401-07:00My Story with Yes 4GI have gotten into Yes 4G "trap".

Sometime back when Yes 4G was launched, they were offering people to sign-up and choose your preferred 018-Xxxxxxxxx number. No payment was require

d. So I think..... why not? Let's see how it works. That time there was no UniFi for me yet. Not that I have to pay anything at the moment. I knew I only need to start paying upon activating the account.

However, when Yes Life app came to the iPhone, I installed it and started playing around with it not realising that the account became activated. Was until a couple of days back when I was toying with the idea to use Yes 4G service to replace my poor DiGi 3G service when my contract ends, I check my account status online. Lo and behold! I owe them RM119+ (RM30 min per month)!!!!

So, decision was to either to cut the line or continue. After some research, I found that the service is pretty promising therefore I decided to continue. To continue and pay with out a device???

I went to SenQ and got myself a Huddle Modem (cost me RM399) and after paying what I owe to Yes, I manage to get online. Speed was astounding especially when your modem shows green color signal strength. Faster if not equivalent to UniFi VIP5.
Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-43984711761413450182011-08-05T18:34:00.000-07:002011-08-06T07:46:26.956-07:00Why Android and the NOT iOS?
I was actually contemplating getting the ipad3 when it comes to the stores. I've talked to a friend and he convinced me how good/powerful the Transformer was as compared to the ipad.

Personally, I think the ipad is a wonderful machine. On the other hand, Android operating system allows you for more flexibility if you are one who likes to "hack" into stuff.

I am still learning the android system. So far it has been fun. BTW, I also owned a China Pad. comes with Android 2.1 but was pretty awful to use. The touchscreen sensitivity is horrible. Fortunately, I was successful in upgrading it to Android 2.2 a.k.a. Froyo a couple of days back. The sensitivity of the screen is much improved. However I am unable to sign-in with my google account. Why?? Seems like I start every post with something along the line of "long time since last post". Well, it's true right? Anyway, I will be having my Unifi HSBB installed tomorrow. Maybe that would change the frequency of my post?? Or I could be too caught up with streaming. Nyak-nyak-nyak.

Will post up on the speed of the HSBB when all is properly set up.

So, until then...........Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-51617512492519144292010-06-07T22:18:00.000-07:002010-06-07T22:25:44.717-07:00iPhone 4It's out! It's out! The iPhone 4 by Apple is out!!!

It is about time especially with the "leaked" and the "stolen" iPhone 4G some not too long ago. All the specifications are as expected. No real surprise there but definitely an interesting toy to own.

Now, when will it arrive in Malaysia shores?? Hopefully the yellow telco will come out with an attractive package with it. Even an option for those whom have got the iPhone 3GS with DiGi (1 month plus ago) and locked with a 2 year contract :(

If not, then the bright side is, I would not be close to this iPhone 4 baby anytime soon.

Oh well, life's like that.....

For the time being, I look forward for a facelift to my iPhone 3GS with the coming OS4 update.

p.s. the iPad is REALLY a cool toy too don't you think???Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-29308350871381935822010-05-14T22:14:00.000-07:002010-05-14T22:21:18.447-07:00iPhone OS, Android, Windows Mobile & SymbianI have personally tried everyone of the OS stated in the title of this post except for the Android. In fact there was another - Palm - which I deliberately left out as it is already out of contention, I believe.

What would be your choice? I find the iPhone OS is very stable and user friendly. Looking at it reminds me too of the Palm platform which is kind of similar with the icons arranged in grids.

Windows mobile is actually quite good but one needs to be ready for it sometimes "hangs". Symbian too is decent but I have experience my phone "hanging" as well.

But to make a fair comparison, one needs to look into the hardware as well for newer gadgets would normally be using a faster processor.

These are my thought on the smartphone OS war.Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-7861836569392666062010-04-20T17:31:00.000-07:002010-04-20T17:44:32.871-07:00Comparison - RevisitedPreviously I've made a comparison between two different broadband service. Today, I shall review the same service (by DiGi) using a different modem at a same location. Hopefully this post will get the attention of DiGi :)

Firstly, let me just say that I am not against or disappointed with DiGi service. I think their service is excellent but I am hoping that the would bring their Turbo 3G service to Putra Heights faster (Lat 3° 0'37.30"N; Long 101°34'44.91"E).

Okay, here goes.....

I tried the broadband service with my USB modem on my notebook and the results are:-
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 206px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_1xSA_gJ-Vzo/S85JJxJeg2I/AAAAAAAACLo/y0b7xsBMP3I/s320/Capture.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462383830207726434" />

Next, I use the iPhone as a modem and this is what I got:-
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_1xSA_gJ-Vzo/S85Jljis_EI/AAAAAAAACLw/2NHZO87jrpA/s400/IMG_0113.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462384307591773250" />

I wonder why the difference? Is the reception from the USB modem superior? Even when in office, the 3G signal from the iPhone will fluctuate quite frequently to Edge speed BUT it is more stable with the USB modem.

Anyone with any answers or thoughts, do feel free to comment.Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-34293736366433591072010-04-09T01:14:00.001-07:002010-04-11T06:19:24.561-07:00Apple iPhone 3Gs

<![endif]--><s>I am ashamed to say that</s> once again I've succumbed to my weakness. This time is the iPhone 3Gs. In a way you can blame DiGi's marketing but my weak "flesh" is mainly to be blamed. I got the i138 package from DiGi. That means apart from the price of the phone, I am paying RM138 + 5% monthly for my phone bill. This price includes 450 minutes of calls and other freebies. It also comes with an unlimited data plan capped to 3GB for turbo 3G speed. The phone cost comes to RM1090 after subsidy. Worth it?Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-83641509508930462422009-10-07T18:39:00.000-07:002009-10-07T18:40:32.297-07:00Danielle @ 3 Months 3 Weeks Old in a Restaurant

Danielle in Restaurant (3mths 3 weeks old)

Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-1087193627372145062009-09-15T20:54:00.000-07:002009-09-15T21:00:48.606-07:00Shopping at eBayAfter a break, I am back at shopping via eBay again. So, what did I buy this time? I bought a leather casing for my new toy, N86, I bought a replacement battery for my wife's handphone (cannot find a replacement in Malaysia already as it was obsolete already - Mitsubishi M330) and another accessory for the N86, a car charger.

I normally buy only items which is low in value to minimize my risk. Most of the times the items are VERY cheap and the postage cost more than the item itself.

I like the last purchase best - the car charger. Cost me about RM11. Postage is free for this item. It will be shipped from the UK. Cool?

The danger about shopping online apart from fraud is getting carried away. It is so easy to click away..........

Anyway, to date, I'm still waiting for my leather casing and car charger to arrive.Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-50086894559198637452009-09-02T21:13:00.000-07:002009-09-02T21:18:59.710-07:00Nokia N86 8MPI've lost!!!!

I have succumbed to my weakness once again :( Got myself a Nokia N86 8MP. It is a phone with an awesome camera function OR a camera which can make calls.

How to justify this purchase? Well the other day, my old phone acted up on me. Hanged really BAD until I needed to do a hard reset to get it to work again. So, lost all my contacts which is not in the SIM ... sigh..

N86 has all the functions which I want/need e.g. good camera function, WiFi, 3G, GPS and etc. If I feel like it, will review it in another post.

....off to play with the new toy.........Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-79895782333820575472009-08-27T23:05:00.000-07:002009-08-27T23:21:12.194-07:00DiGi Broadband
I have just recently cancelled my subscription with Celcom Broadband. Not that it is not good. It is just that there is another which is faster and cheaper. However, Celcom would still be the champion for coverage to my experience.

Now, what about DiGi Broadband? Well, the speed I get at locations where 3G signal is available is much faster than the former. Wonder how long it will last giving such fast speed and cheap price. Oh, haven't I mention that I am now paying less too. For the first year, I am paying less by RM20 per month. Or in other language - Rabun Dekat - which means cannot see near clearly. Normally this kind of defect is labled as "old age". So, it is double *sigh*.

With my new pair of "eyes", I hope my quality of life will change for the better :)Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-136471938567819752009-03-19T17:24:00.000-07:002009-03-19T17:28:44.821-07:00Name for a Baby GirlWhat would be a nice name for my coming baby girl? Any suggestion out there?

Personally, I am very much leaning towards "Danielle". Many would say I am just lazy to think of names and resort to using the feminine version of my own name. Hahahaha.... that may be true. Nevertheless, I think it is a good name. I like my name anyway :)

So, anyone out there reading this have any suggestion, please feel free to give your two cents worth (or more if you like).Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-37947616030094348722009-03-14T17:56:00.000-07:002009-03-14T18:07:15.315-07:00HospitalsMany things have happened since my last post. In less than a month, my loved ones were admitted to the hospital 3 times. At posting time, my dad is still the hospital.

Firstly my dad for acute abdomen pain, discharged, followed by my father in law, discharged and my dad again.

My dad was admitted twice into Assunta. I kinda like Assunta Hospital and in fact my whole family feels kinda at home with that hospital. For me, maybe it is because it was the place where I was born.

My father in law was admitted to the NCI and later did a procedure at Gleneagles (not admitted here). NCI also seems like a nice hospital apart from some strange smell. Comfy and stuffs looked new.

My wife would be delivering at the SJMC. Wonder if the rooms are good and comfortable. For the renovation going on outside, the car parking areas are just messy. Hope it gets better by June :)Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-65993141622782458622009-02-18T21:01:00.000-08:002009-02-19T07:21:00.466-08:00My DadFebruary 19 is my dad's birthday. In 2009, he would be 70 years old!!!! Praise the Lord!!!

My dad is a self made man. Second son in a family of eight (4 boys and 4 girls). He went into the Technical College after completing his secondary studies under somekind of government funding. After finishing Technical College, he was equipped with a diploma for Civil Engineering. Not satisfied being a technical assistant in the public works department, he continues his studies on his own while working. Finally, after much struggling, he manages to pass his external exam known as "Part 1 and Part 2" to obtained and degree equivalent hence becoming a Civil Engineer in the public works department (PWD).

I was born about the time my dad passes his Part 1 and Part 2 examinations. Was it me who brings "luck" to my dad??? Hahahaha.... all in God's hand. All in God's timing.

He works with the PWD until he retires at the age of 50. After retirement, he continues his practice in the private sector for a short period until an economic downturn. From that time onwards, he retired from engineering practices.

My dad is a sportsman by nature. During his college days he plays all sorts of games such as badminton, hockey, cricket and tennis. It was in his days in the PWD that he took up golfing too. But when my brother and I are older and able to take up sports as well, we learnt tennis from him. We had memorable times as a whole family (mom included) playing tennis in the early days. People thinks we are crazy. The whole family will drive to the tennis courts (at SS1) and start playing from 2pm onwards. Like a family picnic. From there we meet all sort of friends.

However, about 10 year ago (I may need to be corrected here), my dad found out that he's got Parkinson Disease. Since then, he has been less active and by the nature of the disease, the patient tends to withdraw himself from the society, slowly. Of course we must take account that he is growing old too apart from the disease.

Anyway, with or without the sickness, he still lives on and have good and bad times together with us as a family. I love him dearly and will always try to make his life as pleasant as I possibly could until he goes back to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. He already have got two grandchildren (Natalie and Michael Sek) from my brother's side and one more along the way from my side.

I pray that my dad will have many more years ahead of him with the whole family supporting him through his illness. I also pray that the Lord will grant him a good health and sustain him spiritually and mentally.Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-3681863400606944992009-02-18T05:55:00.000-08:002009-02-18T06:13:08.943-08:00New WatchNew purchase! New purchase! Here I go again. But please don't jump the gun. This item (wrist watch) would not actually be categorized as a tech gadget. Would it????

I have been wanting a stainless steel strap watch for quite some time. I am however cautious as I have told many of my friends that stainless steel strap would not be suitable for me because it could pull the hair on my wrist. Those who know me personally would be able to figure this out, yar?

Actually I used to own a contraband Tag. After wearing the "Tag" for a while, I found that there is an empty patch on my wrist area!!!!! Anyway, I pull out all my courage and decided to try again. I finally manage to get one good, branded wristwatch (at least I find it good and branded although not costing thousands of ringgit). I've got myself a "Seiko 5" series watch. Kind of pleased and satisfied with the purchase. You can see it for yourself and judge from the picture below.
Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-22304599312393676272009-02-15T23:05:00.001-08:002009-02-16T07:38:31.757-08:00UnknownMy wife and I went for her check-up last Saturday. She's into her 20th week of pregnancy. We were told by the doctor that normally, the gender of the baby can be seen on the 16th week. However, on the 16th week check-up, it was elusive. I was hoping the gender can be known by last visit but it seems that the little stone decides otherwise, so it remains a mystery to us.

I guess that makes things more interesting and mysterious.

Oh little one, if you do not reveal your gender soon enough, you may need to wear some girls clothes if you are a boy or vice versa!!!! Hahahaha!!!!! Oh well, I hope that we do not have to put the little stone into such dilemma.

Anyone out there knows of any good and cheap contractor to do minor stuff for the house. Need to do some stuff in the home for the coming new member of the family.

The clock is ticking...............Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4755178552663011149.post-33291114116937575412009-02-11T21:11:00.000-08:002009-02-11T21:35:35.149-08:00What Now?I am finished with my holidays. Now what? Apart from sorting out the photos and trying to produce a DVD of the holiday such that it would not be too boring for viewers, I suppose I should start putting my mind into the "little stone".

There would be so much to buy but most of it would require the sex to be known first, right? I suppose if a boy "stone", then most stuffs would be blue and if a girl "stone", then it shall be pink.

I think I should start making a list of things to buy........

- baby cot
- bottles
<oops,>

what else????? any tech gadgets required for bringing up a baby??? would a new PDA help? Maybe a new handphone with super powerful camera capability??? If only my wife permits :)

Anyone to help me out there?????

Coming Saturday would be the next doctor check-up. I believe the baby's sex should be known this time. No specific preference. Only need to know so that our purchases match his/her sex. Hahahahaha.......

My nephew and niece is certainly looking forward to meeting their cousin. In fact, my nephew has been asking me to "give" him a cousin and now his wish will come true.Techcrazeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09017217378839602641noreply@blogger.com2
