For the last three days or so, my Streamyx service was down. Called TM and as usual, got me to do a whole lot of nonsense before opening a complain report for me. However, once the report was opened, the response was fast. Less than two days, it is up and kicking ***s again.
Don't really know what causes the system to go down on me. Maybe my "streamyx" is unhappy that I've got the alternative connection??? Nah, don't think so as these things don't have life and feelings or else we would be very close to the "Terminator" era.
For what it is worth, both services are performing satisfactorily for me at the moment.

Alternative Connection
Just subscribed to an alternative broadband connection. So far it has just been for a few hours but the speed seems acceptable. Will keep readers updated on my satisfaction to the service.

EeePC
Finally, I've got my EeePC XPized!!!!
It may not be exactly what wanted but it's a start. My current OS is Windows XP SP3. It was changed from the original Xandros Linux. My ultimate would be to get the XP OS into my 8Gb SD. If that is successful, than I could have a dual boot. Xandros on SDD and XP in the SD. Cool?
Now, one would ask, "Why would I want to do all this?" No particular reason for me. Just knowing that I can do it brings satisfaction to myself.
Lately, I found out that I can also install Mac OS X into the EeePC. Hhhmm... now that's interesting...... I suppose the possibilities are endless, if one have his/her mind onto it, anything can be possible.

Again on eBay
Oooo.... I have actually another purchase from ebay before the last posting. I bought a battery for my wife's Kodak camera. Very satisfied with the purchase. It was on promotion. Delivery is FOC and what do you know... I had a bonus from ebay thus crediting some USD into my Paypal account. Summary to all the long story, I only pay about RM3 for the battery which actual price is USD6.99. Not bad, eh?
New Purchases
Hello!!! Totally ages since the last post. My latest purchases, 8G Kingston SD (RM85) and 8G Pendrive (RM68). Is the price reasonable? I believe so at this time. Would probably go lower in time. Why so much memory needed, one may ask? It is for my latest project, to XPize my EeePC currently running on Xandros Linux. Hopefully can share my success story soon.

eBay
Online puchases. Anyone out there does it regularly? I have my fair share. Recently I purchased my PDA batteries over eBay. Stuff from China is really cheap if not reasonable. Don't know if they last though. Anyway, for cheap purchases like the PDA batteries, the postage cost just as much as the item. On the whole, I am actually quite pleased with my purchase and it may have hit the "key" in my as many times I am tempted to do more purchases :) Control.... control... must control myself and not be carried away. Imagine, it is a simple as 1...2...3.... scary!!!! Next thing you know, credit card bill arrives and shows you a "bomb". All these is not including purchases not made by yourself (hehehee.... what I maen would be ppl making purchases using your credit card). Let's pray that it won't happen, yah?

Unlimited!!!!
Wow!!! 1st post for May. I suppose the blogging hype has died down on me. Hopefully it would revive soon. Yes, I have upgraded my broadband account to the unlimited usage package. Though I almost never fully utilized my previous package limit of 60 hours per month, nevertheless, unlimited access is simply wonderful for me. No more needs to monitor our (wife and I) usage but just use on......... Wonder what else will change in our lives?

Random Thoughts after Lunch at Nusaputra
Ok. Apologies required once again for such a long break from last posting. What can I say? Yes, I have completed declaring my taxes (my wife's as well) and paying what I still owe to the government. Wife have been VERY busy with her work. Things are quite routine. I still travel quite a fair bit for my work. Mostly to Simpang Pulai (at least once a week). Sometime last week, I went to Kuching Sarawak. Was introduced to some "interesting food" by my client. Nuff said. Till next post in which I think I will post a picture of my wireless router (by request of a friend).

Filing Taxes
The dreaded time is here again. Actually I could have done mine much earlier but have been procrastinating since mid of March. I will be doing the e-filing this year. Venturing into a new era. The IT era. Wonder how many out there are actually filing their taxes via e-filing? Anyway, I am more or less done. Just to confirm and check a few more things and I will "SEND" it away :)

A meal a day.
It is quite common these days for the phrase "eat a meal a day" to be associated with Malaysians. Well, it is partly because there are so many good food easily available in Malaysia.
Yesterday was such a day for me, eating a meal a day. Went to a friends house warming party. Food was great and I ate quite a fair bit. There were left-overs as well at the end of the event. This event was followed by another eating event, celebrating my brother's birthday. My, my, I really enjoyed the roast chicken that I ordered. Yummy!!!!! After dinner, we had cheese cake. Boy, was I full.
Totally enjoyed myself yesterday.

WiFi
Hooray! I have got my wireless router (even before the PC Fair). Now my home is WiFi-able. Had a little trouble setting it up but perseverance prevails :) Was my own mistake actually but nevertheless it is now up and running. I got 3 gadgets at home which can be used to access the net, my Dell notebook, EeePC and of course my PDA.

Laziness creeps in!
It's the third day and I find laziness starts creeping in. Partly due to writers block. Hahahah, spoken as though I am a true writer. Hope I don't get flame for this kind of comment. Some may say, "Who does this person this he/she is?" But I hope the one reading this would understand.
Oh yes, understand PC Fair 2008 is coming soon. Yippee, more techy stuff a bargain prices. What to buy, what to buy? Will I be there? I guess so as I would like to get a good deal for a wireless router. Had a couple sometime ago but they got fried by lightning. As usual, stubbornness is the root cause. Not the lightning. I have since wisen up by un-plugging the phone line as well as power socket every time the modem is not in used or during a thunderstorm. Any suggestion for a wireless router out there?
Ouch.Just got light burn from my EeePC. This thing really heats up fast. Wonder if it will spoil easier? Hopefully not but anyway I am still under the warranty period.

My Tech stuff
Let's get into business. What do I own? For starters, I own a Dell Inspiron notebook which is about a year plus in age. For handphone, I am using a GPS PDA phone subscribe to the "yellow" line. To be more precise, it is a Mitac's Mio A700. I actually love this phone except it does not come with a built-in WiFi function. Ah, everyone or almost everyone owns a digital camera these days. Mine is an Olympus fe-220. Nothing to shout about. I exchanged it with my credit card points :) Oooo.... I just added another "toy" some two weeks ago. It is in the form of ASUS EeePC, an ultra portable computer. As a matter of fact, I am using it this very moment as my wife is on the Dell doing her stuff. Must say that EeePC is highly recommended by me. I love it! Will maybe post some pictures next time.

Yes, I just had my exercise session. Though my main interest is in tennis but I play squash too. Had quite a good workout. Tomorrow my body would be aching I guess.

Well, well, well. Jumpin into the bandwagon finally :)
I will try to update this site regularly (no promises). Topics shall be current events of my interest namely IT Tech stuff and maybe tennis. For the time being.... this is it.
